Teak Restoration and Maintenance

Teak is one of the most beautiful surfaces on a boat and one of the least forgiving. Florida sun, salt, and rain turn rich honey-colored wood gray and rough surprisingly fast, and once it goes too far the fix gets expensive. Riptide provides teak restoration and ongoing maintenance across Pinellas, Manatee, and Hillsborough counties to bring the wood back and keep it that way.

Restoration

For teak that has already weathered, we clean and restore the surface to remove the gray, lift embedded dirt and staining, and even out the color. The goal is to take back as much of the original character as the wood will give without stripping away more material than necessary. Aggressive scrubbing is what shortens the life of a teak deck, so we work carefully with the grain.

Ongoing maintenance

Restoration is the reset. Maintenance is what keeps you from needing another one. On a regular schedule we clean and treat the teak so it holds its color and stays protected from UV and salt exposure. Boats that stay on a maintenance cadence look better year-round and need far less invasive work over the life of the wood.
