Seawall Cleaning in Treasure Island
Seawall cleaning for Treasure Island waterfront between Johns Pass and Blind Pass. Hard barnacle growth removal with photo documentation.
Treasure Island sits between Johns Pass and Blind Pass with residential canals running back from the waterway. The seawall here works in some of the most active water on the Pinellas coast, with tidal exchange driving through the passes twice a day.
Why Treasure Island is different
High-flow water produces barnacle growth rather than the soft algae film you get in stagnant canals, and barnacles on a seawall are a more aggressive problem. They attach hard, they hold moisture in pockets against the concrete, and removing them after they have been established for a year or more is significantly more work than clearing recent growth. Properties closer to the passes generally need a shorter interval than properties at the back of the canals, which is why we recommend per property instead of per neighborhood.

Questions
Seawall Cleaning in Treasure Island: common questions
Why do I get barnacles while my neighbor gets algae?
Flow is the main variable. Properties closer to the passes see high water exchange, which feeds barnacles. Deeper into the canals the water moves less and you get more soft algae growth instead. The right cleaning interval differs accordingly.
Are barnacles worse for a seawall than algae?
Generally yes. They attach hard, trap water in pockets directly against the concrete, and take more effort to remove once established. Algae is easier to clear but covers more area and holds moisture across the whole face.
Do you cover the canals as well as the main waterway?
Yes. We service Treasure Island waterfront including the residential canal systems and the Johns Pass area.
What if my wall has not been cleaned in several years?
The first cleaning takes longer and costs more than a maintenance visit, but it is the one that makes the biggest difference. You also get an honest report on the condition of the concrete underneath, which many owners have never actually seen.
