Regular detailing is crucial for your vessel in Florida. The sun, strong winds, humidity and other natural causes quickly deteriorate your boats gelcoat, resulting in extreme oxidation leaving a chalky appearance on gelcoated, metal, and plastic surfaces. Wax coatings last 3-6 months and ceramic lasts 1-3 years. Each can last much longer or shorter depending on how frequent the vessel is washed and maintained.
At Riptide, we strongly recommend waxing every 3-4 months and applying ceramic coatings annually, depending on usage and exposure to sun and saltwater.
